Celebrating 50 Years of Discovery
A moment to reflect. A future to look forward to.
On Thursday, September 17, longtime supporters and new friends came together for an unforgettable evening celebrating five decades of continuous monitoring of Southern Resident killer whales.
We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you for making this milestone so special. Your generosity and support have helped make 50 years of discovery possible, and will continue to shape the future of our research and conservation efforts.
As we look back on this extraordinary occasion, we invite you to revisit the celebrations, explore some of our favourite moments, and reflect on the future your support is helping to create.
Relive the Celebrations
From familiar faces to shared stories, our 50th anniversary celebrations brought together the people who have helped make five decades of discovery possible. We invite you to explore the photographs and revisit some of the moments that made the occasion so special.
Looking Ahead: Generations of Discovery
Your support for our Generations of Discovery campaign is helping to carry forward the research, monitoring and education that have defined CWR for the past 50 years.
It is also helping us look to the future, advancing three ambitious research and conservation programmes that address some of the most urgent challenges facing southern resident killer whales.
Building on five decades of discovery, these programmes will bring together long-term knowledge, pioneering science and conservation action to help secure a future in which southern resident killer whales can thrive for generations to come.
