Following a report relayed through Orca Network, staff from the Center for Whale Research with the help of Captain Jim Maya aboard the Peregrine caught up with J Pod tightly grouped,
slowly traveling north off the mouth of Navy Channel. All members of the pod were present
and appeared healthy. Staff of the Center witnessed a breach from J17, and several rolls and
spyhops from the others, before leaving the pod as they continued heading north towards Active Pass.
