L41 surfaces northbound just off Kellett Bluff Henry Island June 13, 2007. A number of L-pod members had just "arrived" in the San Juan Islands for the first time this year.

Ken Balcomb took R/V 'Orca' out briefly to fuel up and scout for locations to anchor several hydrophone arrays. During the brief foray KCB encountered members of L-pod near Kellett Bluff. KCB then returned to Snug Harbor whereupon staff went out in R/V 'Orca' to observe
L-pod.
