Encounter #41 August 26, 2008 J, K, L pods Platform: Orca Departed Snug Harbor: 10:57 a.m. Begin Encounter: 11:31 a.m. Start Lat: 48° 28.40 N Start Long: 123° 07.66 W End Encounter: 4:21 p.m. End Lat: 48° 24.26 N End Long: 123° 55.91 W Returned to Snug Harbor: 5:45 p.m. Observers: Dave Ellifrit, Courtney Smith and Mackenzie Consoer J, K, and L pods were reported off Constance Bank at 10:00 a.m., August 26, 2008. The Center responded to the report and encountered J's, K's and some L's milling off Hannah Heights at 11:31 a.m. Groups were loose and spread out apparently milling and foraging and slowly traveling south. The Center also observed a lot of social and tactile behavior. L108, who's sex was previously unknown, was confirmed a male, when he rolled over next to the Center vessel.
