It was a calm but foggy day, but by the time we encountered the whales at 12:27 a.m. north of Turn Point, the fog was starting to clear. Groups where spread out milling at the mouth of Swanson Channel. At 12:45 a.m. the whales turned and started to head East up Boundary Pass. All 3 pods were spread across the pass milling and feeding. We left the whales at 2:19 p.m. 2 miles West of Blunden Island still heading east up the pass.
