On the return trip from Oak Bay, B.C., Ken received a report of J pod on the west side of San Juan Island. He encountered J's spread out mid Haro Strait, south west of Eagle Point. The whales traveled toward San Juan Island and up the west side. The encounter ended at 7:33 p.m. off Mitchell Bay.
