J, K, and L pods were encountered on the west side of San Juan Island at 11:02 a.m. They were traveling slowly north and spread out in loose groups. All of J and K pod were seen as well as the L37's and L87. The encounter ended at the southern end of Swanson Channel at 2:43 p.m. The whales continued to travel north up Swanson Channel.
