Encounter #001 �January 18, 2009 � T30's near Kelp Reef

T30’s encountered by Ken Balcomb near Kelp Reef, Haro Strait. These whales were being very elusive, but appeared to be inbound toward the Gulf Islands. Two of these whales had previously been satellite tagged by NOAA researchers on September 14, 2008 and tracked to Queen Charlotte Sound, subsequently returning off Victoria on December 8, 2008.
